As a proud Partner level community with Main Street Oakland County and Affiliate level community with Main Street America, the Wixom DDA plays a vital role in fostering a thriving, welcoming, and economically strong downtown.

What is the Main Street Program?

The Main Street program is a nationally recognized framework designed to support and revitalize downtowns through a proven, community-driven approach. It focuses on preserving the unique character of historic downtowns while encouraging sustainable growth and economic vitality. The Four-Point Approach

Central to the Main Street program is the Four-Point Approach®, which provides a comprehensive roadmap for downtown revitalization. In Wixom, these four pillars are brought to life through dedicated, volunteer-led committees:

• Design – This committee focuses on the visual appeal of downtown. From beautification projects and streetscape improvements to public art installations, their work helps create a welcoming and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike.
• Organization – The backbone of the DDA, this committee ensures strong communication, volunteer engagement, and effective collaboration. They help build partnerships and keep the momentum going behind the scenes.
• Promotions – Responsible for creating excitement and drawing people downtown, this group organizes events and marketing efforts that showcase everything Wixom has to offer. Their work helps build a sense of community and encourages people to shop, dine, and explore locally.
• Economic Vitality – Focused on supporting and strengthening local businesses, this committee works to attract new investment, assist existing businesses, and ensure long-term economic health for the downtown district.

• Activation of Gilly’s Alley and the upcoming West End Commons as unique and engaging public spaces
• Community events like the Derby Day Races, Block Party, and Spooktacular Treat Hunt
• Ongoing support and advocacy for downtown businesses including the Junction Social District and the Food Fight on Main: Burger Battle and Pour Wars
