Warm days, sunny skies, and the sounds of summer fun will fill the air in Downtown Wixom. We are excited for the City of Wixom Parks and Recreation Department to host its summer concerts and family fun nights at Sibley Park starting June 1st. Residents and visitors will enjoy music and family fun every Thursday from June to the end of August. Don’t miss out on celebrating America’s birthday at the Lite the Night Fireworks on June 22nd (fireworks will begin at dusk). All the fun for these nights starts at 6:00 pm.
You will see some construction happening downtown as well. The Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will be redoing the sidewalk on the south side of Pontiac Trail between Wixom and Old Wixom Roads. This project is anticipated to start before Memorial Day and be complete by mid-July. Also, construction for Mack Park will be starting soon. It will be great to have new benches, tables, and so much more in this area. The City of Wixom has a great plan for the park, and it will be a great new addition to downtown.
The Junction is open! The Junction Social District is open for anyone 21 and over to purchase an alcoholic beverage from a participating establishment and enjoy it in the social district boundaries.
