November 5 – December 5, 2025

The holidays are all about community, compassion, and coming together to lift each other up — and this year, the Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the City of Wixom are teaming up to make a difference through our Holiday Food Drive benefiting Hospitality House Food Pantry!

From November 5 through December 5, we’re asking our wonderful Wixom community to help keep pantry shelves stocked and stomachs full this season.

🥫 A Friendly Battle for a Great Cause

Four of our amazing downtown Wixom businesses are going head-to-head in a friendly competition — all for bragging rights — to see who can collect the most donations for Hospitality House!

You can drop off non-perishable food and personal care items at any of these participating locations:

  • SprayChic Airbrush Tanning – 49038 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393
  • Wixom Liquor – 49122 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393
  • Michigan Community Insurance Agency – 49357 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393
  • Backyard Coney Island – 49378 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI 48393

So grab a few cans from your pantry or pick up some extras at the store — and help your favorite local business earn those bragging rights while making a real impact for our neighbors in need!

❤️ The Need Is Greater Than Ever

With SNAP benefits suspended due to the ongoing government shutdown, even more families are turning to local food pantries for help. The need is higher than ever, but together, we can make sure no one in Wixom goes hungry this holiday season.

🏠 About Hospitality House

Hospitality House Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization serving all of Oakland County, and they never turn anyone away who needs food assistance.

So far this year, Hospitality House has distributed 124,629 pounds of food to 226 Wixom households, representing 556 individuals — a total value of $245,519.13 in food! In fact, Wixom is the second largest community served among nearly 100 municipalities in their network.

Since January, Hospitality House has served 1,652 households (that’s 4,151 individuals) who together have made 15,051 pantry visits, receiving more than 915,000 pounds of food. On average, each client receives about 61 pounds of groceries per visit, and families can visit twice a month.

Beyond their pantry, Hospitality House also runs the Weekend Food Program, which ensures kids have meals when school is out. Each week, volunteers pack drawstring bags filled with six meals and four snacks for students to take home on Fridays. What started in 2022 serving 32 students has now grown to 331 students across 23 schools in the Walled Lake and Novi school districts!

đź’› Together, We Can Make a Big Impact

This holiday season, let’s show what the Wixom community is all about — generosity, kindness, and heart. Whether you drop off a single can of soup or a whole bag of groceries, your donation helps feed a neighbor, support a local family, and strengthen our community.

Let’s make this food drive one to remember! Together, we can keep the shelves stocked and spirits high this holiday season.
